Hannah Blilie Tattoos
American band Gossip and formerly Shoplifting drummer Hannah Blilie has some good collection of ink jobs. She has also performed with Sarah Dougher, Chromatics, Stiletto, Mr Yuk, The Lumpies, Vade, The Vogue, and Soiled Doves. She performed a lived show a month ago at the Metro in Chicago and Mia from ChicagoNow had an interview with her. Now in the past two or three years I’ve just gone crazy. I have lots of flowers, horses and birds. I just got my left arm totally filled so I’m excited about that
Hannah always dream of having full sleeves but never got that chance before she start making good money with the band. Painted by an artist call Tamara de Lempicka, Hannah’s tattoos are two women on both arms, lots of flowers, hourses, and birds with other cool deco-ish pieces. With this crazy fast paste going, she is worried about running out of space on her skin and new ideas.
Mia: That’s the only problem is running out of any skin area.
Hannah: Yeah and just coming up with more ideas. I’ve been really into traditional tattoos lately. Just bold, because I think they age really well. There’s a lot of tattoo trends, like right now, the Kat Von D really light portraiture stuff with light gradients. And I think it looks cool at the time, but it probably looks like a blob in about ten years (laughs). Like, “What is that?” “Oh it used to be a face.”
Even Hannah’s mom is kinda freakin out because she has gotten so many pieces in only the last couple years.
